Serena Off Road Jamboree 23/8/97
For the first time in this season the sections were driveable,
but the weather made life difficult.
Heavy rain started during the competition.
After 5 hours driving and a few bad rollovers,
in group II the last section was cancelled. It started to
be too dangerous for the drivers and competition schedule was going out of
order. So after 8 hours driving ... here are the results.
Group III cup winner for this season is
Seppo "Popo" Luukkanen and Jari Silander from
Mad Moose Racing.
Congratulations to them!
After many years hard trying they made it.
Group II Cup competition ... there is still 3 drivers how could win it.
They are Parkkinen/Vartiainen, Eklund/Toppi and Ojanpera/Metsankyla.
The last trial, the Blue Road Trial in Kuopio,
will show who is this year's cup winner in Group II.
The last two trials have been Toyota's,
but Kuopio might change the situation
(as it has done in earlier years).
Hoping to get my left hand in ok
condition before the Kuopio trial....
