Agustin Galvez's agustingalvez terra cl 5/01 --> Suzuki Samurai

He finds the Suzuki economical to run and reports that...

... it has only been bogged twice in mud in four years and has helped bigger and heavier 4WDs out of mud and sand bogs. [12/'00]

Diesel powered Santana Samurai and Vitara (~Suzuki) are popular because they get the "green stamp" for low emmissions, meaning that they can be driven in Santiago 5 days of the week. Cars without the green stamp cannot be sold in Santiago and older ones must not be driven one or two days of the week.

By the way: The army is selling some old Willys and Land-Rover 4x4s. They are being replaced by Brazilian Engesas and by some Israeli 6-cylinder 4x4s. In the near future we may have some Tatas - Agustin Galvez [1/'01]
