I am the current owner of the Forward Control camper shown on the page http://www.4wdonline.com/Conv/Campers.html
It's a '66 or '67 model, originally having a 2.6l petrol engine. A previous owner fitted a 186 Holden engine, and another fitted the (current) 3.9l Isuzu diesel (with associated gearbox, diffs, axles). We've just gotten back from a 10-day trip around Tassie, where we really built up our arm muscles wrestling 2.5 tonne (1.5 of it on the front axle) along the winding roads with no power steering. It's still going strong, and we are now starting on a bit of an update of the interior. |
