Press Release August, 2006 Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Rover Antics are pleased to announce the upcoming launch of our new River Runners line of LED lights. River Runners are waterproof, shock resistant LED lights, specifically designed to replace your Series Land Rover’s or Defender’s existing incandescent front side, stop/tail and front/rear turn signals lights. River Runners LED’s provide a crisper, clearer and brighter light. Even if you never take your vehicle off-road, you can gain significant benefits from using River Runners. Why use River Runners? Snow, road salt, rain and even normal condensation will reduce the effectiveness of a standard Land Rover light assembly. While the reduction varies from slight to burnout, every reduction in effectiveness increases your chances of being hit by another vehicle. Studies conducted by the University of Michigan found that: "If the initial speed (of a vehicle) is 100 kph (62 mph) the reduction in effective stopping distance is approximately3.2 meters." (That’s just under 11 feet or nearly one LWB Land Rover length). Construction and Life Expectancy. Constructed of high grade plastics and stainless steel, River Runners will deliver up to 100,000 hours or 11.4 years, (assuming you had them on for 24 hours a day) of no-hassle illumination and safety. River Runner LED’s lights are the same size as standard Land Rover lights and are specifically designed to fit the existing lights location. Need to park somewhere dark? Go right ahead! You can leave your River Runners on with out draining even an older battery. The side lights, front and rear, consume approximately 4 watts total (.5 amps -that’s for all four lights). Hazards / 4 way lights. Ever had to keep your hazards (4-way) lights on for a protracted period? Then you will know why we love the fact that all four lights consume less than one (1) incandescent and a mere 17 watts (approximately 1.3 amps) total.
