Chrysler Sales Double

Melbourne - Riding on the run away success of the 300C, Chrysler achieved a 101 per cent sales increase in January to start 2006 in spectacular fashion.

With 292 retails the Chrysler marque sold over double the amount of vehicles to Australians in January than it did for the same time last year.

The stunning 300C delivered the lions share of the impressive performance with 131 retails, in what is the model’s third successive month of sales well in excess of the magic 100.

Strong sales for the retro PT Cruiser (87 units - up 12 per cent) and Voyager people mover (63 units - up 24 per cent) also helped achieve the remarkable result.

“The market reaction to the 300C has been phenomenal since it went on sale late last year,” said Gerry Jenkins, managing director, Chrysler Group Australia.

“People are already labelling it a cult car.

“We’re fully sold out of 300C HEMI®’s through to May and the order bank continues to build.

“Interest in the V6 is also surging.

“The vehicle has not only expanded our range, it is bringing new customers into our dealerships, and the rub-off effect on the Chrysler range is showing,” he said.
