Jeep® Introduces the Most Prized of Birds
Set to enhance Wrangler’s claim as Australia’s best selling convertible, Jeep® has launched a new limited-production Wrangler Golden Eagle just in time for summer. The Golden Eagle, which has been introduced to meet record demand for the iconic four-wheel-drive, comes complete with exclusive styling and bold graphics based on the classic and highly popular late-1970s Wrangler CJ Golden Eagle sold in North America. "The Jeep Wrangler is a firm favourite in Australia and our limited edition model’s really hit a cord with our customer’s, delivering a superb value statement.” said Gerry Jenkins, managing director, Chrysler Jeep Australia. “With a modern version of the look that made the original Golden Eagle one of the most prized and rarest of birds and added equipment value of over $4,000 for only $2,000 cost to the customer, this new limited edition Wrangler is bound for success. “Whether you are after a hugely capable off-roader, or a classic four seat convertible for our upcoming Australian summer, Wrangler does the job, and the Golden Eagle edition does it with even more style,” said Jenkins. Based on the 4.0-litre, six-speed manual Sport model, the Wrangler Golden Eagle features 15” x 7” alloy wheels, a premium sound system with CD player and seven speakers including a subwoofer, painted brushed stainless steel-look centre console, dual top roof - including soft and hard top option, auto dimming mirror, compass, leather wrapped steering wheel, cruise control and side steps. The Wrangler Golden Eagle is easily identified by unique badging and embroidered markings on its remarkably tough, two-toned seats. A limited stock of 400 Wrangler Golden Eagles will be available, with the model priced form $31,990, for the six-speed manual. While the original CJ Golden Eagle special edition wasn’t imported locally, a number of Jeep enthusiasts in Australia have kitted their Wrangler’s with the decals and accents that made this limited edition so popular in North America. Jeep Wrangler year-to-date sales of 1,264 are up 67 per cent compared to last year, and are poised to overtake the previous full year record of 1,458 sales, set in 1997 – the vehicle’s first full year on sale. Such high demand for the vehicle has elevated the Wrangler to Australia’s best selling convertible.
