Best September in Eight Years for Chrysler Jeep Best September in Eight Years for Chrysler Jeep Chrysler Jeep produced its best September performance in eight years (631 sales) according to official VFACTS figures released yesterday, boosting year-to-date sales to 5,548, a seven per cent increase over 2004. The result was driven by the strong performance of the Jeep brand with monthly sales (447 units) up an impressive 32 per cent over last year's September result. All three Jeep models sold in higher volumes compared to last year’s September, with the all-new Grand Cherokee leading the way up 48 per cent (133 sales), the Cherokee up 24 per cent (204 sales) and the Wrangler continuing its outstanding run up 33 per cent (110 sales). For the Chrysler marque, Voyager sales were up 31 per cent (85 sales) over last year’s monthly result with the special edition Vision series attracting new customers. And solid PT Cruiser and Crossfire sales helped Chrysler year-to-date sales to a two per cent increase over 2004. Chrysler Jeep managing director, Gerry Jenkins, said the result is indicative of the increasing strength of the Group’s product range. “The new Grand Cherokee is proving popular and there is particular interest in our new, fuel efficient, 3.0-litre turbo diesel variant," said Jenkins. "With the much anticipated Chrysler 300C sedan arriving in the next month, there are some exciting times ahead for the Group." |
