Australian Minister Launches Territory Safari Tour

[Australian] Federal Minister for Trade, Hon. Mark Vaile, will visit Ford Australia's Assembly Plant tomorrow, Wednesday April 6, in Melbourne to launch a multi-million dollar automotive export program to South Africa.

Mr Vaile will be joined by Ford Australia President Tom Gorman to pilot the first South African-bound, Australian-built Ford Territory SUV off the assembly line.

Mr Vaile said the export deal is further example of the expanding trade relationship between Australia and South Africa. Last year passenger vehicles represented Australia's third largest export to the region.

The multi award winning Territory has just clocked up its 25,000th production run since its launch in June last year and has established itself as Australia's top-selling SUV.

Ford is expecting to sell about 2000 Territory vehicles in South Africa each year.
