Chrysler and Jeep Sales up 19 Per Cent Chrysler Jeep achieved 680 sales in February, a 19 per cent increase over the same period last year, according to official VFACTS figures released yesterday. Sales were driven by strong performances across the product range with the Jeep Wrangler, Cherokee, Chrysler Grand Voyager and PT Cruiser all achieving higher sales when compared to February 2004. Jeep Wrangler achieved its highest monthly sales in almost five years with 171 deliveries. The impressive figure represents a 99 per cent increase over Wrangler’s previous February result. Jeep Cherokee sales of 216 were up 16 per cent on the same time last year with the 2005 model and more ruggedly styled Renegade edition proving popular. The Chrysler Grand Voyager (102 sales) also experienced increased demand, with the figure up 38 per cent over last year. Rounding off the Group’s strong performance was the Chrysler PT Cruiser with 86 sales, an increase of 16 per cent on February 2004. “The solid result reflects the excellent packages and value of the Chrysler and Jeep products currently in the marketplace,” said Gerry Jenkins, managing director, Chrysler Jeep Australia. “With initiatives like Voyager Stow ‘n Go, the Cherokee and Wrangler Renegade editions and the PT Cruiser Grand Tourer in the mix, we have a lot to look forward to in the coming months," he said. |
