There is very little wild country in the United Kingdom over which there is a public right of way. Green lanes refer to those public rights of way, such as unmade roads, bridle paths, etc., to which there is public vehicular access. Green laning is the past-time of traversing them. Needless to say, with a lot of people in a small country it is important to exercise care and to avoid track damage.
