Off-Road end of season safari '97.
The fifth annual "Off Road - competition season is over" safari in Eastern Finland 14-16.11.97
Moffroad and Eastern 4x4 Miracles clubs arrange a weekend safari in Ravijoki (near Russian border). Driving area is around 400 hectar and it includes routes for standard 4x4 vehicles and also modified 4x4 vehicles. Routes include for both groups rock climbing, mud paths, river crossings, etc., almost every kind off road ground what you can hope for. And if it snows it makes driving more demanding. Weekend cost around $10 per car. Accomodation for the seaside cottage is around $5/person for 2 nights. The $5 includes also compulsory sauna Friday and Saturday nights. Standard 4x4 vehicles should be equipped at least 31"-32" off road tyres and a winch or hi-lift. Modified 4x4 vehicles should be equipped at least 35" off road tyres, guards, and axle locks. To avoid damage, guards are strongly recommended!
Driving starts on Friday night for a short (about 3 hours) night safari at
10pm. Saturday driving starts at 12am and it takes around 10-12 hours to
