Australian 4WD Radio Networks.
The 4x4 Radio Nett [see News early June 1997] is quite separate from the Australian National 4WD Radio Network. The former is a commercial organisation which resembles the latter. Recently Lencom Antennas in conjunction with Telstat Communications have now set up a base near Geelong as part of their network. An information sheet (just received) about 4x4 Radio Nett indicates that "other states will be added shortly as demand increases". [...] concerned to hear that other HF radio networks claim to be affiliated with, or be endorsed, by the ANFWDC. This is not so. No other radio network has approached the council, nor sought affiliation. The Australian National 4WD Radio Network Inc. is the only radio network to have such affiliation with the ANFWDC and the Council is pleased to be able to participate exclusively in this Network, which it launched in Queensland in 1994 and with which it shares so many members. - 9/7/1997 via S.J. -->See also the x-ref, 30/10/97, 26/8/97 or 17/6/97 pages |
