Land Rover introduced the 107" wheel-base in 1953.
The ute pictured above must be one of the last 107" series one Land Rovers
as the series two (SII) came in during
1958.
I owned this vehicle (right) from 1971 to 1974
when I rolled it over and damaged it beyond economic repair.
It was unmodified in any way and had the following "features":
109" WB, 2L petrol engine, fully floating axles,
hole in bumper for the well-used crank handle,
no flasher lights, hand signals only,
and the wing mirrors vibrated horribly.
A good basic ute and the best Landrover I've owned.

Also owned 1960 S11 88", 1968 S11A 109", 1954 S1 86".
Currently I own a Landcruiser Ute, and still enjoy 4wd touring
after almost 30 years.
