Toyota has been voted the most female-friendly automotive company by the women of Australia in a recent poll conducted by www.autochic.com.au – the number-one-ranked automotive website for girls.
Toyota’s Public Relations Manager, Mike Breen, was delighted by the win. "Toyota has always made an extra effort to provide a satisfying experience for its customers, whether browsing the web or attending special dealer events. We appreciate the value
Auto Chic places on receiving feedback from its readership and providing feedback so that we can all improve the products we provide," he said.
Honda came in at second place, and in third as an alternative to choosing any other car company listed came a resounding vote of ‘none of them’.
“Despite awareness over the past few years of the importance of women in the car purchase, unfortunately the perception still remains that the automotive industry is blokey”, said Founder and Director of Auto Chic Juliet Potter.
“Our research clearly shows that women feel more effort needs to be made by manufacturers to build positive relationships with them – especially when you consider that 85 per cent of all car purchases are in fact made by females. It’s a matter of asking women what they want, and then delivering”.
Potter is recognised for doing just that – she was the first to launch an automotive website for women in 2000 that included functionality, tools and information dictated by the women of Australia that remain intact on her Auto Chic website today, including a female-friendly directory and forum, car reviews by women for women; advice on car finance, insurance, tyres and eco-friendly cars; celebrity car gossip and more recently, video content.
Most ‘female-friendly’ car companies:
1) Toyota
2) Honda
3) None of them
