VW Bora

2001 July: Australia gets a new VW Bora variant featuring a 150kW V6 and 4motion (four wheel drive). The V6 is only available with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Engine options are 2.8-litre V6 (with 4x4), 2.3-litre V5 (125kW at 6200rpm and 220Nm at 3200rpm) and 2.0-litre 4-cylinder (85kW at 5200rpm and 170Nm at 2400rpm).

Prices are from $36,850 4-cyl 5-speed man', 4-speed auto +$2.1K,  $46,200 V5 5-speed man', 5-speed Tiptronic +$2.1K (1 Aug),  and  $54,400 V6 6-speed man'($au).

Standard features on the V6 include ABS brakes, ESP, traction control, 6-CD player, leather seats, 16" alloy wheels, and electric sun-roof.
