2000 September: Lexus
(i.e. Toyota) has been pleased to let everyone know
that the Australian Wheels Magazine "Redbook" gives the
GS300 a 5-star rating for resale value.
The GS300 is said to retain 77.5% of its new price
three years later, beating the Mercedes Benz
E320
Elegance, the BMW 523i Auto', Volvo
V70T SE
and others.
The `E-shift' became avaialble in November -
up and down shift buttons on the steering wheel
to control the gearbox.

The GS300 has a 166kW straight-6 engine,
aimed squarely at the likes of the BMW 5-series.
