LandCruiser 40th.
1998 is the 40th anniversary
of Toyota LandCruiser in Australia.
The first LandCruiser
to be imported into Australia was an FJ25 SWB soft-top
brought in by Thiess Toyota.
The anniversary edition was released in August 1997.
It is an
80-series GXL wagon
with ABS brakes, full-time four wheel drive
and viscous coupled centre differential, and alloy wheels.
There is a choice of Toyota's
4.5L twin-cam petrol ($53,870 manual, $56,590 auto),
4.2L sohv diesel ($56,100 manual), and
4.2L 4-valve/cyl turbo-charged diesel ($68,420 manual, $73,890 auto)
engines.
Twin air-bags are optional.
It might be churlish,
but the choice of a 70-series
LandCruiser would seem more appropriate.
