2000 December:
The Suzuki Grand Vitara XL7
is based on the
XL6
concept car shown at the Detroit (USA) Motor Show in January 2000.
The XL7 went on sale in
the USA,
to generally good reviews, and
at is due for sale in Australia in early 2001.
The XL7 is the largest Suzuki to date, featuring
three rows of seats, and
a 2.7-litre V6 engine.
Suzuki also stated that
"it will maintain its current model pricing into 2001"
when many importers are raising prices
partly because of the weak Australian dollar.
