Stewart and Stevenson Services Tactical Vehicle Systems Division is delivering 2.5-ton 4x4 and 5-ton 6x6 trucks from the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) to the US army as of mid 1996.

Perry Engineering (Aus) with Stewart & Stevenson are bidding for the Australian Army's Project Bushranger Infantry Mobility Vehicle (IMV) with the Bushmaster 4x4.

Stewart and Stevenson also produce the SS300 high mobility 8x8 truck having a 2.5 ton payload.

From a company brochure: The company was founded in 1902 by blacksmith C. Jim Stewart and carriage maker Joe R. Stevenson. It made diesel driven saws for the timber industry in the 1930's. During World War II the company overhauled US Army trucks and Jeeps, and built diesel powered generators.
