Porsche Boxster

The Porsche Boxster is a mid-engined sports car; unlike the long-lived 911 which has its engine behind the rear wheels, the Boxster has it in front of the rear axle for more balanced weight distribution.

Initially the Boxster was citicised for the 2.7 litre engine being under-powered - for a Porsche (which may seem laughable to those of us who drive ordinary cars). To counter this, the 1999/2000 model year and another $23K brought the option of a larger 3.2 litre engine in the Boxster S. Both engines are water-cooled flat-6's with four valves per cylinder dohc (per bank) and dry sumps - 4wd.sofcom.com
