Below is a 1973 Jeep CJ5. I bought it in 1991 and have done a lot of modifications on it since then:
The power train consists of the following: Stock 304 V8, Ford T-18 4spd tranny with the compound low 1st gear, model 20 transfer case, ring and pinion are 3.73:1, the front axel is a Dana 30 with an added Power-Lok, the rear axel is a Dana 44 with a factory Trac-Lok.
Suspension
consists of the following: Rancho 2 1/2" Softride leaf
springs, that have been mounted on top of the axel housing for an incresed
lift of six more inches, Confer 1 1/2" lift shakles, and a 1"
body lift,
Rancho RS500 shocks are used on each corner. Tires are 33x12.50x15
BFG Mud Terrain mounted on 15x10 Crager chrome modular wheels.
Accessories contain the following: Custom built over head console that encloses a 40-CH CB-radio, Jeep Limited high output AM/FM stereo cassette, 4 midrange speakers and over-head lighting. The rear fenders hold the 8" MTX full range speakers. There is a full cage roll bar, rear custom built cargo rack, and twin 5 gallon gas can holder. I carry with me at all times a fully charged fire extinguisher, 5 gallons of fresh water, axe, shovel, complete first aid kit, tow strap, full set of needed tools, and a large selection of spare parts.
Future plans include the following: Disk brakes on the front and rear, an air compressor with custom fabricated air tanks under the doors, made from heavy gauge steel, welder, on demand temperature controled shower, --> tilt steering, and a winch.
