Gembrook Area.

The Gembrook area, extending north east and south east from that town, and bounded by the Lilydale - Noojee road to the north, the Noojee - Warrigul road to the east, and the Princess Freeway / Highway to the south, is quickly reached from Melbourne and contains many interesting four wheel drive tracks.

There is plenty of Victorian clay - dusty in summer and slippery in the wet. There is also granite which makes an abrasive paste so it is wise to clean out brake-drums after wading.

The region is not high - below the tree-line - but there are good views from the top of Mt. Beenak in the north.
