Finke River Track.

The Finke River Track runs from about 35 kms from the site of the old Wallara Homestead and runs across the Palmer River and curls around past Illamurta Springs. It repeatedly crosses the Finke (Larapinta) River and reaches Boggy Hole (below).

Follow this track further and it emerges close to Hermannsburg. It is definitely 4WD only. The Palmer is a very sandy river and there are a few dunes to cross. The photo was taken last year when we escorted a group across from Western Australia into Centralia and back.
