Tooma Dam area;
Kosciusko Road above Perisher Valley;
Smiggin Holes to Guthega link road;
All other subsidiary roads and trails connecting the above.

In addition, any other trail or minor roads may be closed in Winter or in wet weather to prevent damage.

Winter closures are deemed to be from the June long weekend (9 June 1997) to the October long weekend (3 October 1997). Closures are at the discretion of local Rangers.

The re-opening date is subject to weather conditions. If it has been raining in the few days prior to the opening dates, then the re-opening of the trails may be deferred for a week or two to allow the trails to dry out and therefore avoid any damage.

Club Trip Leaders should contact the local NPWS Office in charge of the area to find out if the trails are opened. If the trails are not opened for the October long weekend, the Trip Leader should ask why they are not opened, get the name of the person they spoke to and immediately contact the Association.
