Twin Tongue proves two heads are better than one

Affordability, says Mr Stafford, is an important consideration for most 4x4 fans so the Twin Tongue costs were kept low by duplicating compressor components rather than developing and manufacturing 'over-size' parts.
"Using individual compressors at either end of the motor also offers benefits in terms of cooling (and hence performance) and size," he says. "We wanted a unit that was small enough to be mounted under the bonnet and, even with the 'extra' compressor, the Twin Tongue isn't much bigger than the Blue Tongue III.
"It's a very efficient piece of engineering all 'round."
