The Australian National 4x4 Show is coming to the Sydney Showground and Exhibition Complex, at Homebush Bay, 17-20 June 1999. The event has been held in the Melbourne Exhibition Centre since its inception in 1996. According to the organiser, Andrew Stott Promotions, a year 2000 show will not be held in Sydney due to the commitments of the venue to the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, but it is scheduled to return to Sydney in June 2001 and beyond. (The 1999 Melbourne show is still on: in October.)
The 1999 (Sydney) National 4x4 Show will be held in conjunction with the Rex Hunt Fishing and Great Outdoors Expo, continuing the 4WD connection with boating and fishing established in Melbourne. One ticket gives admission to both shows.
The Homebush Bay complex is next to the Olympic Park railway station on the southern edge of the Sydney Showgrounds and the Olympic Stadium site. The combined show will occupy all 22,000m2 of exhibition space in the building.
The organiser's attendance figures for 1996 were 54,000+ and for 1997 64,000.
