Toyota Dyna 200 4WD
September 1998: From the email: This practical, tough 4WD truck is now available in Australia. This type of vehicle is particularly suited to farmers, tradesmen etc. who require a small 2/2.5tonne truck with 4WD capabilities for on and off-road work purposes. The 4WD trucks are available in both Tipper and Flat deck models. These imported models have the larger 3.7 litre diesel 14B engine. (The Australian 2WD version has a smaller 2.9 litre engine.) Transmission is by way of a 5-speed gearbox coupled to
a high and low ratio transfer case.
When the free wheeling front hubs are locked,
an electronic switch on the dash is used
to engage and disengage four wheel drive.
All have dual rear wheels and power steering is standard.
All are fitted with a heater and some have air-conditioning.
Each vehicle is modified to comply with Australian design rules and a full Australian compliance plate is fitted. Part of these compliance modification specifications involves a full service, and the fitting of new seatbelts and six new tyres. These vehicles are eligible for a sales tax exemption to those who qualify. The worldwide reputation of the quality and durability of Toyota 4WD
vehicles makes this a very desirable work truck.
Only a limited number of these 4x4 trucks can be supplied.
Demand will exceed available supply. Rivals: Mitsubishi Canter 4x4. Go to the
