Pre-event announcement:

![]() You can see what they got up to in May [here] |
Ravijoki is situated near Hamina in southeastern Finland, close to Russian border. The venue is 900 hectares of typical Finnish forest with rugged tracks (some of which date back to WWII), cliff climbing and muddy sections. This summer has been really wet, so be prepared for a mud party.
Be early, because the participation is limited up to 70 vehicles. Being Safari for road taxed 4x4 vehicles, the tyre size is limited up to 35" (except for Hummer's standard 37" and modified or prototypes are not allowed to attend.
Other: The Safari is organized by Merita Off Road and Safarimestarit. The Patron of the event is Rector Olavi Ropponen. Main sponsors are Shell Oy Ab Finland, Iltalehti-newspaper and MeritaNordbanken. The event will be covered in the newspapers. Some of the 4x4 car importers bring their new vehicles to Ravijoki for testing. Average temperature in Finland in the autumn varies from +8 - +15 C.
