The 1997 Australian International Motor Show was held at Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre from 17 October to 26 October.
Present was an increased numbers of four wheel drive and other recreational vehicles.
Newbies included
the new Jeep
Cherokee
(2.5 diesel and 4.0 petrol),
Ssangyong
Korando
(3-door brother of the
Musso)
and Land Rover's
Freelander
(left).
Daihatsu Terios, Honda CRV 4x4, Subaru Forester and Suzuki RX2 were there. GM had the huge Suburban 4WD and Nissan its new GU Patrol. It was Mitsubishi's turn to bring a concept 4WD - the Zaus. Toyota plugged (in) a RAV4-EV electric vehicle, hmmmm, as well as a (petrol) RAV4 Cabrio.
