As in 1996, the other half of the Exhibition Centre is filled with the Fishing and Great Outdoor Expo and one ticket gains entrance to both shows.
Oka four wheel drives are made in Western Australia.
Unlike most
Oka's
this one has a Chevy V8.
The Isuzu
Vehicross
is sold in Japan,
in small numbers. Not in Australia.
Ssangyong's short weheel base four wheel drive, the
Korando,
got its first Australian showing.
Styling is a matter of personal taste
but the engine is a goer.
American heavy metal was there in the shape of Ford F150's, F250's, and Dodge Ram's (right). This Dodge 1500 has four doors. The rear "suicide" doors are hinged at the rear to make for a wide pillar-less opening. The front doors overlap them so the rear ones cannot be opened on their own - for safety when under way.
All the major vehicle manufacturers were at the show plus equipment and accessories companies and four wheel drive clubs and associations.
