Blinman 1998.
The Land Rover Register of South Australia presents
The Blinman Land Rover Jamboree.
WHERE: Blinman in the Flinders Ranges, South Australia
WHEN: 15th - 18th of May 1998
In 1994 the Land Rover Register of South Australia held it's
first Jamboree in
the historic Flinders Ranges town of Blinman. It is now
a major event attracting
Land Rover enthusiasts, and dealers from as far away as Queensland and
Tasmania with a turn-out of 70 vehicles last year.
With the Fiftieth Anniversary
of Land Rover, the event will be even bigger and better in 1998.
Held over the
Adelaide Cup long weekend, starting on the Friday,
there will be a variety of
events held. Tag-a-long tours through the picturesque Flinders Ranges are run
with the support of local land owners and enable everyone to see some of the
scenery and old ruins unique to the Flinders. These will be running over the
whole weekend. Driving trials are also held, on a section of land leased by the
Register.
These are run in a controlled environment enabling drivers to learn
more about their vehicles and driving skills in a friendly competition
environment.
Special children's events are run so as to cater for all the family.
Evening entertainment includes a street party with live entertainment and a
presentation dinner.
