Ibex in Gazelle's Clothing?

Ibex II by Foers
|
urfing the super-info-off-road-bahn,
like you do,
with those internet search-engines that get just about everywhere,
you stumble across some fascinating things...
The Foers
Ibex
(right) is a small-volume four wheel drive
built by Foers Engineering of Yorkshire UK and based on Land Rover
Defender
mechanical components.
It has a truly remarkable similarity to
Eurasia Motor Corporation's
Gazelle sport utility vehicles,
the Rage and the Endura (below).
The clothing seems to be the same
but Eurasia Motors describe the use of a
race-proven Cosworth Engineering 2.9 liter (sic) V6 engine
and 4-speed automatic transmission - tasty.
The Gazelle vehicle information page [5/9/97] reports that
"The introduction of the first Gazelle in 1987
opened a new way of travel in
Australia
for
military,
extreme service and parks departments use."
Later, it goes on to say
"Sold in Great Britain, Japan, Asia, Australia and now
in the United States, the Gazelle is truly a masterpice."
A masterpiece it may be,
but the use of the Gazelle (or Ibex)
in Australia, in 1987 or later,
is news to 4WD Internet Magazine.

? Gazelles ?
To Foers and Eurasia Motors:- what's the connection?
