The Camel Club.
The Camel Club
was formed in February 1997 and membership is
open to all owners and prospective
owners of the vehicles used on the Camel Trophy, enthusiasts
and anyone interested in the Camel Trophy event itself.
Membership currently includes ex-Competitors, current Marshals and
ex-Marshals with vehicle ownership
spread between Team Discoveries, Support 110's and a 90.
There are no restrictions on age or profession.
Trade persons could also benefit through being associated with us.
The Club is based in London, not quite the
heart of Camel country, but its members and events
are spread far and wide - our most distant member lives in Greece!
Over the course of the year, the Club organises non-competitive
`fun' driving events at various sites.
Social events are also an essential part of the calendar.
Later in the year, we hope to visit Safety Devices as the
Trophy vehicles for the '98 event are being prepared.
The Club publishes the news letter, The Camel's Breath, in
which members, and those associated with
the business side of Land Rovers may submit articles or adverts.
Through the Club, members and
associates may benefit from excellent discounts offered on parts,
servicing and ex-Camel Trophy vehicles. We may be able
to help source those hard to find items that your ex-Trophy vehicle may need.
The Club is on the lookout
for enthusiasts who would be willing to take on some of the day-to-day
organization that such a prestigious
club requires to run smoothly. Your assistance would be greatly
appreciated by everyone in the Club.
