| The Nordic Trial Competition is an annual event which this year will take place in Espoo in Finland. The organisers for the event this year is Tapiolan Urheiluautoilijat - TapUA (a local car sports association). The event is driven in 3 different groups, group 1 (standard), group 2 (modified) and group 3 (free). The competition will be held according to the rules of the Finnish Automobile Sports Federation. Drivers form Norway, Sweden and Finland must have a valid off-road racing licence from respective country. Danish and Icelandic drivers must have valid personal insurance. |
| For every class there are about 20 different "trial-stages", which have to be driven with minimum amount of penalty points. There is no minimum time-limit on the stages. The stages vary a lot, anything from rock and boulder -climbing to dense mud-holes. The stages are very demanding and therefore it is recommended that even cars in group 1 be well protected by guards (axles, track rods, fuel tanks). It is also recommended that cars competing in group 1 have a main roll cage. As an exception to earlier events with group 1 stages, it would be desirable that the drivers have trial-competition experience. |
