Off Road 4WD Recreation Show.

The show was the last to be held at the (old) Exhibition Buildings Melbourne (22-24 February 1996). That building is currently being redeveloped to house the Victorian Museum. The new Exhibition Building (the "Aircraft Wing") on South Bank now hosts major events, beginning with the Melbourne Motor Show which was timed to coincide with the Australian Formula One Grand Prix.

There were lots of goodies at the 4WD show to induce you to spend money: a Sprintex supercharger conversion for the Toyota 80-series owner who has run out of puff, ARB diff' locks and accessories, TJM suspensions, Mark's Adaptors, tyres, wheels, gadgets, trailers, campers, tents, maps, tour operators and so on.

Patrol GQ No new vehicles were unveiled (some held off for the motor show) but Nissan had a full house - Nissan Patrol station wagon, coil-sprung Patrol ute, the new Nissan Pathfinder and a Navara crew cab.

[Rangie, jpg] Mike Smith's Range Rover which came second in the 1995 Transpen Malaysia International Jungle Challenge was one show, looking more capable than most of the newer metal.

The Off Road 4WD Recreation Show is an annual event, organized by I.B.Exhibitions.
