Land Rover Discovery - Camel Trophy.

Camel-Trophy Land Rover Discovery.

This diesel powered Land Rover Discovery, as used in the Camel Trophy, is one of the holdings at the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust museum, Gaydon. Land Rover Discoveries have been used on the Camel Trophy since 1990 when they replaced Land Rover 110s. Apart from the obvious bolt-on equipment - roll cage, roof-rack, driving lights, electric winch, bash plates etc. - they are standard Discoveries.

The wires running from the roof-rack to the bull-bar are to deflect foliage. Check that they are legal in your legislation before being tempted to copy them.

[picture of Landrover Discovery roof rack rear jpg] The roof-rack is bolted through the roof to the internal roll cage to withstand the forces generated on rough roads. It carries sand / mud tracking and, at the rear, an axe that is quickly accessible but safely mounted.
