Rokon 2x2.
Loren and Patricia Upton, with Juan Rivas, made an all-land crossing of the Darien Gap using a Rokon Trail-Breaker two wheel drive motor-bike in 1995. This is but the latest of their many exploits in that region, Patricia having recently written an adventurer's guide to the Darien Gap
In the Darien Gap - L. L. and P. E. Upton
The Rokon Trail-Breaker is a true two wheel drive motor-cycle. Wide low-pressure tires (tyres) are fitted and a unique feature is the extra fuel capacity carried within each wheel. An automatic transmission is used and the weight kept down to 185lbs to ease man-handling over truly severe terrain (see above).
