Tatra of Czechoslovakia make high mobility all wheel drive trucks - 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 - and other military vehicles. Surprisingly, they are a frequent competitor in the truck section of the Dakar (was Paris - Dakar) Offroad Rally.

By round-about means this Tatra T815 8x8 has found its way to California USA:

The Tatra was procured by the US military during Desert Storm for immediate usage in the Gulf War. It was later sent to a military museum for display. After a few years it was sold as surplus to a farmer in Portland, Oregon and Mike Epstein bought it from him. It is the crown jewel of Mike's collection!
