Australian Specialised Vehicle Systems (ASVS) is a joint venture of Australian National Industries (ANI) (51%) and Reunert Mechanical Systems (Reumech) of South Africa (49%).
Reumech is well known for its armoured vehicles which often featured on the world's TV screens during South Africa's troubled path to democracy. South Africa and Australia share similar geographic and climatic conditions and Reumech's experience in producing vehicles that can travel long distances with minimal support should be useful to ASVS.
ASVS has submitted the Taipan 4x4 Infantry Mobility Vehcile (IMV) to the Australian Army's Project Bushranger Phase 2/3. 1996 -->
