1951 Land-Rover

1951 L and R over

1951 model which I have recently registered and which I drove to Cooma (and back) from Blayney (near Bathurst in NSW). I bought it from a bloke who had bought it from a farmer near Oberon. I suspect it spent most of its working life in that area as its general condition makes me think it had not travelled very far.

I have repainted it as close to the original colour as I could (can you tell me what the correct colour is called?) and it has been re upholstered in a vinyl which closely matches the original. I have cheated in the engine department and fitted (temporarily) a 1979 diesel but all the reat of the drive train is original.

I am also looking for a more original engine as the noise from the diesel is just a little too much to bear. I will miss the economy though (about 30mpg).

The chassis number is 16661793 and it is registered in NSW as UYR-447.
