1950 Land-Rovers.
Note the wire mesh radiator grille over the head-lights
on Michael Bishop's 1950 Land-Rover series one (SI),
chassis number R06102815.
Note also the lack of external door handles.
This Land-Rover has the rear-mounted belt-drive unit
for powering machinery such as saws and threshing machines.
A leather belt takes power from the driven pulley to the machine.
The unit is driven from a power take-off (PTO) at the rear of the gearbox.
The radiator grille now has holes for the larger
headlights on this later 1950 Land-Rover, chassis number 06113353.
The new arrangment made cleaning the headlights much easier.
