An unusual view of a Land Rover
Discovery's
transmission and LT230 tranfer-case (right) -
this Discovery also being fitted with
a 4.7L V8 and extractors by Ritters.
The drum for the hand-brake can be seen on the
rear propeller shaft towards the right of picture.
An LT95 gearbox with the top cover off.
The LT95 transmission was fitted to early
Range Rovers,
FC101,
SIII stage-1 Land Rovers
and early
V8 Land Rover 110's.
The main gearbox has four forward speeds. The gearbox and the transfer case are separated by an oil seal but there is one casting for both units.
The three selector rods can be seen with
the detente springs sticking up
out of the middle cross member.
