Isuzu General Motors, a joint venture of Isuzu and General Motors manufacture four wheel drive vehicles. These are sold through Holden (GM) dealers in Australia.
For example, the Isuzu Trooper is sold as the (IGM) Holden Jackaroo in oz at least. In other markets, such as the UK, the Trooper and the Vauxhall (GM) Monterey co-exist.
This short wheel base model (right) is the original shape with
the later, tidier grille.
The Isuzu Deseo four wheel drive show-car was on the GM Holden stand at the Melbourne International Motor Show. Could this wild styling exercise be the shape of 4WD's to come? The related Isuzu Vehicross 4x4 is on limited release in Japan.
Isuzu 4BD1 3.9L 4-cylinder diesel engines were also factory-fitted to many early Land Rovers 110's in Australia.
