2001 January: The Honda X adventure concept vehicle (sounds like, but doesn't look like, Volvo's) at the North American International Auto Show [Detroit].
The X (eXtreme etc.) has four doors opening at the B-pillar, or where the B-pillar would be if it had not been deleted to make a large opening. Further, "the rear roofline slides forward and the rear window slides into the tailgate" for more easy access.
The X has a "next generation i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine" 5-speed manual gearbox, and front wheel drive. It is just a concept car, but a tamer, production, 4WD version could replace the HR-V, no?
