Colin McRae and Nicky Grist won their third rally in a row,
Greece's Acropolis Rally,
and are now equal first in the World Rally Championship with
T Mäkinen (Mitsubishi Lancer).
Acropolis Rally:
1. C. McRae (GB)/ N. Grist (GB) Ford Focus RS ,
2. P. Solberg (Nor)/ P. Mills (GB) Subaru Impreza,
3. H. Rovanperä (Fin)/ R. Pietilainen (Fin)

2001 June 4:
Colin McRae and Nicky Grist won the Cyprus Rally
in a Ford Focus.
Cyprus was the 6th round of the 2001 FIA World Rally Championship.
Richard Burns and Robert Reid
(Subaru
Impreza) were second.
Carlos Sainz and Luis Moya (Ford Focus) were third.
Tommi Makinen
(Mitsubishi)
still just leads the series (27pts),
from Sainz (26pts) and McRae (20pts).
Ford (50pts) leads the manufacturer's series
from Mitsubishi (47pts) and Subaru (22pts).

in their Ford Focus RS World Rally Car.
McRae beat Richard Burns (Subaru Impreza) by 26.9 seconds.

3 C. Sainz (Spain) & L. Moya (Spain) Ford Focus RS.
Makinen (Mitsubishi Lancer) leads the championship,
