Tickford
Ford AU Falcon has been given
the Tickford (TVE) treatement, resulting
in the TE50, TS50 and TL50,
released in October 1999
in conjunction with the Ford
Cougar V6.
The TE50 and TS50 are "short wheelbase",
the TL50 on the longer (Fairlane)
"luxury" wheelbase.
Tickford Vehicle Engineering Pty Ltd (TVE)
is a joint venture between Tickford and Ford (.au)
that carries out special projects for Ford,
including spicing up of mundane models into something a little more exclusive.
(Tickford is a privately owned UK company with
operations in the UK, USA, and Australia.)
In this case there is a
200 V8 (220 on TS50),
electronic sports-shift (ESS) automatic transmission,
P235/45ZR17 tyres on 17" wheels
(P245/40ZR18 tyres on 18" wheels on TL50),
improved suspension,
heavier duty brakes,
6-CD stacker,
luxury seats, and
driver and passenger airbags are standard.
