Firefly
Two of our vehicles.
Both all wheel drive, both fire vehicles, both
operational.
First is a Land Rover
forward control
Firefly.
The second is VF special vehicles conversion 6x6
stage-1 V8
Land Rover.
Both undertake low category Aviation Fire and rescue cover in the UK.
Firefly Aviation Fire & Rescue,
operates to U.K. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) standards,
undertaking fire and rescue cover at airshows,
events, airfields, helicopter support etc. all over the UK.
Aviation Fire and Rescue, service, overhaul and carry out
preparation of vehicles, lease of vehicles, and conversions of HCB Firefly to
aviation use and basic conversion of most
Landrover
based vehicles.
Our first vehicles were Landrover forward control HCB Firefly's,
hence the organisation's name.

What's in a Name
The name
`Firefly'
was originaly used mainly by
HCB (Hampshire Car Bodies) who at one time were partners with Angus;
they sadly no longer exist. We use the name as part of our compnt title,
i.e. Firefly Group consisting of: Firefly Special Vehicles, Firefly 53 and
Firefly AFR.
