The last date to register to EuroTrial 199 is 1st of July 1999. This is because, there have unfortunately been different registration deadlines in different language versions of the Official Information Packet. For your information, there are still Official EuroTrail Information Packets available in English, French, German, Swedish and Finnish.
The venue of EuroTrial is a small village with approximately one hundred inhabitants. The EuroTrial site will be very easy to find. There will be signs from the road E18. We would like to emphasize that the following competition rule is valid and
the marshalls will supervise that it is followed to the letter:
"During the competition, both the driver and the co-driver must wear safety
belts at all times."
We are confident that after you have seen the tracks you will realise that this rule is for your own safety. The safety hazard of a co-driver hanging outside the vehicle is considerable, taken the fact that the tracks include large trees and rocks. There is high risk of personal injury when the co-driver is between the vehicle and e.g. a rock. In the Finnish off road trial cup there have been unneccessary accidents caused by the lack of using safety belts. We do not want that to happen at the EuroTrial 1999.
Point 4.1 in the Standard -class rules "The standard equipments of the vehicle cannot be removed". This simply means that e.g. the bumpers of the vehicle, must be similar to the original ones in size and shape.
The emphasis of the scrutineering is in the safety of the vehicle. In case you have any questions concerning technical issues, please contatct the EuroTrial Office
The long term weather forecast promises warm and sunny during the EuroTrial. This means in Finland that the daytime temperature is between +17 to +23 degrees Celcius and during night time some +10 degrees Celcius. The sun rises at 1.00 am and falls at 11.00 pm, so the nights are full of light. This year there are less mosquitos than usual, because of the cold and dry spring season.
