No it's not broken;
Mal Story's conversion has real four wheel steering.
The rear wheels can be steered independently of the front ones
by hydraulic power but only in low ratio -
otherwise life would be just a bit too exciting on the freeway.
The chassis is from a Range Rover but the bodywork is not Land Rover, it just looks Land Rover - why?!# The picture was taken at the 4WD Field Day

This rear detail shows the rear radius arm,
coil spring and Poly-Air air bag inside the coil. If the front and rear wheels steer in the same direction the vehicle can crab side-ways - especially useful when you get that slipping feeling on a greasy hill side. If they steer in opposite directions the vehicle will turn on a sixpence - great for parking.
