Series One Land-Rover Club of New Zealand.
The club has been running for approximately 8 years and has 60 members spread from Kaitiaia in the north to Gore at the bottom of the south island. Since it is not a local group we do not have regular meetings, keeping in touch through the club magazine. The club's intention is not off roading. It was set up for the preservation and restoration of Series One Land-Rovers - no dates to limit this, as some 107 Station wagons were still being registered in 1964 and the registration date is often confused with year of manufacture. Of the 12 Land-Rovers imported into New Zealand in the first shipment we have found 8 still on the road. We have also uncovered R860020 [*] that was imported as a demo model in 1948. This is currently being restored by a group (unfortunately not members) in Taihape. Kevin Isemonger (ed) kisemon@clear.co.nz [3/'96] Neil Aston (Pres'), 6 Harris St., Pukekohe, New Zealand
